Estonia, a Baltic country neighboring Latvia, Finland, and Russia, is becoming increasingly popular worldwide. Known for its strong digital security and advanced digital infrastructure, Estonia attracts thousands of foreigners yearly for work, study, or business. Additionally, a growing number of foreigners are settling in Estonia long-term.
Recently, Estonia has introduced significant changes to its taxes and several other areas, including visa and residence permit fees. Starting January 2025, the cost of temporary residence permits and visa applications has more than doubled.
For instance, the cost of applying for a temporary residence permit from inside Estonia was previously around 60–80 euros. Now, the fee has increased to 225 euros, more than tripling the previous amount. Below, we’ve outlined the updated fees according to the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) website.
